There isn’t much here that we stopped to see other than the cornerstones
of the temple that was to be erected here. Brother Beagley gave us a bit
of history as to the area—the Saints didn’t live here very long before they
were forced out—and talked about some of the reasons why the early Saints
left the Church. I think he did a very good job in relating history to the
present, and I plan on being humble enough to accept guidance from my spiritual
leaders. Far West is pretty, though.
The picture on the left is of one of the four cornerstones of the temple that was going to be built in Far West. Persecution forced the Saints from Far West before construction could start in earnest. The apostles met here before going off to England on missions.
